Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth) Terhadap Penghambatan Pertumbuhan Jamur Malassezia furfur
Abstract
Kenikir leaf is one of the herbal plants used by Indonesian people. Kenikir leaf produces secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, tannins, and phenols that allow plants to defend themselves from bacteria, fungi, and viruses. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of kenikir leaf extract (Cosmos caudatus Kunth) to inhibit the growth of the Malassezia furfur fungi. The effectiveness test was carried out by using the well methods with the concentration of kenikir leaf extract 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, and using ketoconazole 2% as positive control and aquades solution as the negative control. Kenikir leaf extract was emerged from the extraction process through maceration by soaking using a 70% ethanol solution. The results of the One Way ANOVA test showed that the p value of the treatment group was <0,001. The results of the Bonferroni Post Hoc test showed that the positive control group with the kenikir leaf extract group had a p value <0,001. In the extract group with a concentration of 20% with a concentration of 40% has a p value of 0,068. A concentration of 40% with 60% has a p value of 0,051. A concentration of 60% with a concentration of 80% and 100% has a p value of 1,000 and 0,153, and a concentration of 80% with 100% has a p value of 1,000. The test results showed that kenikir leaf extract concentrations had an effectiveness against the inhibition of Malassezia furfur fungi growth with a weak inhibition response.
