Abstract
Acute respiratory infection (ARIs) among aged under five years old children is always being the main complaint in Indonesia’s first line of health facilities, especially in Cadasari’s health center work area. Indonesia’s child among aged under five years old has been estimated to suffered ARIs 3-6 times per year. Children with LBW history have a higher risk to suffered ARIs. This study aimed to discover the association between the ARIs frequence aged 0-24 months with LBW and NBW. The design of this study was cross-sectional. This study involved 53 subjects who met the inclusion criteria. The subject has been elected by a cluster sampling technique. The results of this research were analyzed using the chi-square test (p=0,000; 95%CI=4,021-106,572). Children with LBW history have lower immunity compared to NBW, hence they have a higher risk to suffered ARIs. There is a significant association between the frequency of ARI and LBW.
