Abstract


The number of blind people is about 1.5% of the total population in Indonesia whose standard of living can be improved. On the other hand, the Covid-19 pandemic has increased the use of public gadgets in supporting activities that will put you at risk for eye disorders due to the blue light that is emitted. This research is a research on the manufacture of a face shield equipped with an obstacle detection device for the visually impaired to obtain navigation made from blue light and ultraviolet light shields. This study aims to produce a prototype face shield that can be used by the visually impaired and the public as protective equipment during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method is in the form of research and development (research and development). This research resulted in the design and prototype of the face shield by testing the ultrasonic sensor and cell motor vibrator to the maximum. The face shield made can provide navigation from obstacles and provide protection for the face from blue light, ultraviolet rays, and the spread of viruses.
